Increase in DA Under The 5th and 6th Pay Commission in Haryana

While the central government has taken a big decision regarding the DA hike plan for these employees, the Haryana state government has announced a 16% DA hike for employees covered under the 5th Pay Commission and a 9% hike for employees covered under the 6th Pay Commission. Although most state employees across the country are now under the 7th Pay Commission, some are still under the old 5th and 6th Pay Commission, and their pay structure has not been revised recently. These employees continue to receive salaries based on the old pay matrix.

What is the Government’s Plan Haryana Employees?

Employees in Haryana have been demanding a hike in their dearness allowance (DA) through the 5th and 6th pay commissions for a long time. In response to these demands, the Haryana government has decided to increase the DA for employees through these pay commissions. The increased DA will also be transferred to the PF and other savings schemes of the employees. From July, employees will get higher salaries as per the new DA rates.

Details of the DA Increase in Haryana

For employees through the 5th Pay Commission, DA will be increased by 16%, from 427% to 443%. Employees through the 6th Pay Commission will get a 9% increase in DA, from 230% to 239%. This adjustment will result in higher DA based on basic pay, giving employees significant financial benefits. Now, in Haryana, about 250,000 employees and 262,000 pensioners are covered under the 7th Pay Commission, and their DA hike is being discussed. Once the central government announces the updated DA figures for central employees, the Haryana government is expected to do the same. Additionally, there is speculation that the 8th Pay Commission may be formed in 2024.

What will happen after the formation of the 8th Pay Commission 2024

The 7th Pay Commission has already been implemented across the country, but the proposal for the 8th Pay Commission 2024 is expected soon. Whereas, many employees are still in the 5th and 6th Pay Commission and no amendment has been made in their salary structure yet. In this context, the Haryana government has issued orders to increase DA for employees through the 5th and 6th Pay Commission by 239% and 443% respectively. This increase will be released from July through the proposed 8th Pay Commission 2024. Arrears from January to June will be transferred to the accounts of employees and the increased DA will be included in the salary from July. The Haryana government is planning to distribute this amount to employees and pensioners in various ways.
