Eligibility For Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship 2024
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- The applicant family must have only one girl.
- Girls without a brother or having twin daughters/brothers and sisters can also apply.
- The applicant must be below 30 years of age at the time of admission to the first year of PG course.
- The applicant must have taken admission in a regular, full-time first year Master’s degree course in any designated university or postgraduate college.
- The candidate must be pursuing a non-professional course and attending regular classes from a recognized institute.
- The applicant must not be pursuing education through distance education mode.
Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Benefits 2024
- ₹36,200/- per year for a period of two years only i.e. the entire duration of the PG course.
- 3,000 new scholarships will be awarded every year and will be paid on DBT mode on an annual basis.

To be submitted by the Student
- UIDAI Aadhaar Card.
- Confirmation of enrolment in a recognized Master’s degree program in an institution in India approved through UGC.
- Joining Report (as per the template given in Annexure-I).
- Legal declaration about having only one girl child (based on the template given in Annexure-II).
- Bank Account Passbook (duplicate copy).
- Birth Certificate or Secondary Education Completion Certificate.
To be submitted by the Institution
- 1. After completion of first year, progress report should be submitted through the institute along with the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates.
- 2. After completion of first year, fund utilization certificate is also important to be submitted through the institute authorities.
How to Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship 2024 Apply?
- Eligible applicants are required to submit their applications through the National Scholarship Portal after the opening of the application period and after it is announced on the UGC website.
- The educational institution in which the applicant is enrolled is required to certify the submitted online application.
- Educational establishments admitting students to the first year of postgraduate programmes are required not to charge tuition fees on female students pursuing postgraduate degrees in universities/colleges/institutions.
