CRA Parental Benefit Eligibility 2024
All individuals falling into the following categories are considered eligible for benefits:
- Pregnant individuals
- Claiming benefits while giving birth to a newborn
- Parents caring for an adopted child
- Individuals whose weekly income has decreased by 40% due to circumstances
- Individuals have an employment history of approximately 600 hours before claiming the benefit amount

CRA Parental Benefits Payment Schedule 2024
- Maternity benefit can be claimed 12 weeks (3 months) before the child is born. Eligible individuals can claim this benefit for up to 15 weeks.
- People receiving parental benefit are advised to claim the benefit as soon as possible. Although parental benefit can be claimed by the child’s parent and can be shared by both parents.

How To Claim CRA Parental Benefits 2024?
Individuals are advised to claim benefits within 12 months of the date of resignation for standard parental benefits and within 18 months of the date of resignation for extended parental benefits. However, if a person resigns from work, they are advised to claim benefits within one month of the date of resignation.
