Odisha Balaram Yojana 2024

The Odisha government has launched the Odisha Balaram Yojana to provide rural loans worth ₹1,040 crore to landless farmers who are currently unemployed due to the coronavirus pandemic. About seven lakh landless farmers will benefit through this scheme in the next two years. Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathi has directed officials to provide agricultural loans to landless farmers through Joint Liability Assemblies (JLGs). IMAGE will make arrangements to implement the scheme at the state level. Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) will make arrangements at the regional level. Horticulture Secretary Saurabh Garg said that landless farmers will get loans through JLGs which will act as ‘social insurance’.

Odisha Balaram Yojana 2024 Objective

The main objective of the Odisha Balaram Yojana is to provide financial help by releasing loan up to Rs.1.6 lakh each to JLG of farmers facing difficulties due to COVID 19 outbreak.

Odisha Balaram Yojana 2024 Benefits

The main benefit of the scheme is that in the next two years, about seven lakh landless farmers will get benefit through the scheme.
The scheme has been prepared in collaboration with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
There are about 7000 branches of various banks and PACS in provincial and semi-urban areas for the benefit of farmers.
The Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (IMAGE) and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) will be different nodal organizations at the state and regional levels for the implementation of the scheme.
