Punjab Ashirwad Scheme 2024 Eligibility, Benefits, Apply It has been started by the Punjab government to help in the marriage of girls who come from economically weaker families. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to those families who cannot afford the marriage of their daughters. This scheme is operated through the Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Department of the Government of Punjab.
This scheme was started in 1997 under the name of Punjab Shagun Yojana, in which financial assistance of ₹ 5,100 was given through the government. Then on 26 January 2004, its name was changed to Punjab Ashirwad Yojana and the amount of help was increased to ₹ 6,100. On 1 April 2006, this amount was increased to ₹ 15,000, and on 1 July 2017 it was increased to ₹ 21,000. Now, financial assistance of ₹ 51,000 is provided through this scheme.

Punjab Ashirwad Scheme 2024 Eligibility
To avail the benefits of the scheme, the beneficiary must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- The beneficiary must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
- The girl must be at least 18 years old.
- The annual income of the family should not exceed ₹32,790.
- Beneficiaries from the following categories such as Scheduled Caste, Backward Class, Muslim girl, Christian girl, daughter of a widow, Scheduled Caste widow or divorced girl can avail the benefits of this scheme.
